The City of Visalia Animal Control Facility is located at 29016 Highway 99. (Google Map) It was built in 1968 and houses both Animal Control & Animal Shelter staff. The building is able to hold 115 dogs & 200 cats at one time, and is the major holding facility for lost or stray pets in Visalia, CA and other surrounding citys.  The City of Visalia contracts its services for sheltering and animal control to Valley Oak SPCA.

We do this to prevent the expense and suffering caused to both humans and pet animals due directly and indirectly to animal bites, and neglect of proper basic pet ownership responsibilities. Our goal is to insure public health, safety, and animal welfare in our community
