My Medium
My main medium is oil, although I do some pastels now and then.

My Background
I got started with crayons when I was a child. Colors fascinated me.  Also, when I was in first grade and was learning to use watercolors, I decided black and white photos in the family album needed some color, so I obliged.  When my children were small, I colored photographs for some photography shops. also I found that I could paint pillow cases and tablecloths with oils instead of embroider them.  I did some oil paintings then also.  But it wasn't until I had moved to California that I started painting seriously.  In 1965 I started taking lessons from a teacher in laguna Beach - later in Garden Grove and Riverside.  I started showing my work in 1972.  I moved to Porterville in 1979 and joined the Springville Art Association and showed at the Patton House.  Later, Porterville opened their Gallery. I belong there as well.  I haven't put anything in the gallery for awhile, because I have been doing so many portraits on commission.

My Inspiration
Inspiration is all around us and I have admired many artists work.  I do traditional art - so I admire those who paint in that style.  Vernon Kerr, Eugene Garin, Ted Blaylock, Loren Adams, Charles White, Wendell Brown, Dale Gehrman, Justin Manning to name a few, and Nathan Greene, a Christian artist.
