Fire Administration Personnel

Battalion Chief Dustin Hall

Battalion Chief Dustin Hall began his fire service career in 1994, where he was active with Mountain Valley VFD, CAL Fire, and Fresno County Fire District prior to being hired by the Visalia Fire Department in 2000.  Chief Hall was one of the first Paramedics trained by the department and has been very active in the departments Emergency Medical Services Program.  Chief Hall was promoted to the rank of Engineer/Paramedic in 2005, to Captain/Paramedic in 2009, and was promoted to his current rank of Battalion Chief in 2016.  Chief Hall has his AA Degree in Fire Science and his BS Degree in Fire Service Administration.

Battalion Chief Danny Wristen
Battalion Chief Danny Wristen began his career with the Visalia Fire Department in April of 1992. He promoted to the rank of Battalion Chief in December of 1999. Chief Wristen has served as Fire Marshal, Administrative Battalion Chief and as a Shift Battalion Chief. He has been involved in Emergency Preparedness, Hazardous Material Response, Technical Rescue and many other fire department programs. Chief Wristen holds an AS Degree in Fire Science from Fresno City College.
Battalion Chief Darrin Hughes

Battalion Chief Darrin Hughes started in the fire service in 1991 as a Firefighter/EMT with the San Joaquin Delta Fire Department near Stockton, CA.  He then began his career with the Visalia Fire Department in January 1996.  After promoting to Fire Engineer and then Fire Captain, he served as the department's first Administrative Training Captain in 2009 and operated the new Training Facility prior to being promoted to Shift Battalion Chief in 2012.  Currently, Chief Hughes oversees the department's Type I Hazardous Materials Team and Type II Technical Rescue Team.  Chief Hughes recently became a Certified State Fire Marshal Chief Officer and is working toward his Bachelor of Science Degree in Fire Administration.

Battalion Chief Brian Adney
Battalion Chief Brian Adney began his career in the fire service in 1985. He worked for Cal-Fire and Fresno County Fire District. Brian came to Visalia in 1992. Chief Adney has worked in all ranks of the department including Shift Battalion Chief. He has been involved in a majority of all department work programs including Emergency Preparedness, Hazardous Material Response, Emergency Medical Services and Buildings and Grounds. Chief Adney holds a AS Degree in Fire Science from Fresno City College.
Administrative Officer Captain Jay Manning
Captain Manning started his fire career at the age of eighteen with the Tulare County Fire Department as a Paid Call Firefighter. He attended the College of the Sequoias Fire Academy in 1998 after realizing he had a love for the job. Captain Manning worked for Cal Fire in Monterey County for two seasons prior to being hired by the City of Visalia as a Firefighter in August of 2000. Captain Manning promoted to Fire Engineer in March of 2006 and promoted to Fire Captain in March of 2009. he was recently assigned to the Administrative Fire Captain position in September 2014.

Captain Manning currently manages the Fire Department's Communication and Report Management System.
Senior Administrative Analyst - Nancy Renovato
Nancy Renovato is a Senior Administrative Analyst with the Visalia Fire Department. She began her employment with the City in October of 2000, serving in various departments and capacities.  In March 2011, Nancy joined the fire department, and presently oversees the preparation and management of the department's $14 million annual budget.  She also has oversight of expenditures, purchasing, grants, personnel matters, and serves as the department's Record's Custodian.  Nancy holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
