The mission of the Fire Chaplain is to give aid, comfort and help to firefighters and their families; to work toward the betterment of all areas of the fire and emergency services. As a Fire Chaplain, the work is not limited to the area of fire departments, firefighters, communities nor victims of the devastating ravages of fire or other crisis happenings. Fire Chaplains strive to help ease the suffering of our fellow man wherever that path shall lead. Fire Chaplains are also first responder crisis intervention specialists. They are there to listen when the stress of emergency service pushes us beyond everyday coping. Fire Chaplains are there to assist Chiefs and Administrators with employee assistance program activities and make appropriate referrals when something affects our ability to perform our regular tasks on the job. Fire Chaplains do all this without regard for denominational or faith practices. Fire Chaplains are non-denominational, non-sectarian, here for people of any faith or no faith.
