The Visalia City Council has maintained the limits on the
city’s water conservation ordinance to a "Mandatory Stage 3".
The City of Visalia and California Water Service Company are asking for your cooperation in reducing water waste. Please do your part to conserve water by following the watering requirements:
Daily Watering Guidelines. Even Addresses water on Wednesday, Friday, Sunday
Odd Addresses water on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday
No Watering between 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
NO Watering is allowed on Mondays.
Wash your vehicles, boats, airplanes, and other equipment with a bucket, sponge, and a hose with a shut-off nozzle. Use car washes that recycle water.
Empting or filling of swimming pools and spas is allowed by permit only. Draining permits are FREE. Please call 713-4531, or click on Pool Draining Permits to complete an electronic permit.
The operation of ornamental fountains is prohibited unless it uses a recycling system, such as an electric pump.
Hosing down sidewalks, patios, or driveways is prohibited. Use a broom to clean these areas. Hosing down is not allowed unless it is necessary for the health and safety of the public.Non-compliance (City of Visalia Water Conservation Ordinance Section 13.20.050.A) will result in two more written warnings from the City of Visalia or California Water Service Company, before the issuance of a citation for said violations. Not withstanding the foregoing (Section 13.20.050.B), any person violating any provision of Section 13.20.050 shall be deemed guilty of an infraction and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00). Each day that a violation continues, shall be regarded as a new and separate offense. (Prior code § 9606).
Further violations, where negligent or wasteful use of water exists on a customer’s premises, California Water Service Company may discontinue the service if such practices are not remedied. (California Public Utilities Commission Rule 11). As part of our ongoing water conservation efforts, we encourage you to review your water sprinkler system to ensure you are watering on the correct day and time. Also check for any leaks, broken pipes, or sprinkler heads. We also recommend that you replace the batteries in your sprinkler system at least once a year to ensure that you maintain your service, even during power outages. A good time to test your batteries is when we change to daylight savings time and back.
