The Visalia City Council has maintained the limits on the
city’s water conservation ordinance to a "Mandatory Stage 3".
City of Visalia and California Water Service Company are asking for your cooperation in reducing water waste. Please do your part to conserve water by following the watering requirements:
Non-compliance (City of Visalia Water Conservation Ordinance Section 13.20.050.A) will result in two more written warnings from the City of Visalia or California Water Service Company, before the issuance of a citation for said violations. Not withstanding the foregoing (Section 13.20.050.B), any person violating any provision of Section 13.20.050 shall be deemed guilty of an infraction and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00). Each day that a violation continues, shall be regarded as a new and separate offense. (Prior code § 9606).
Further violations, where negligent or wasteful use of water exists on a customer’s premises, California Water Service Company may discontinue the service if such practices are not remedied. (California Public Utilities Commission Rule 11). As part of our ongoing water conservation efforts, we encourage you to review your water sprinkler system to ensure you are watering on the correct day and time. Also check for any leaks, broken pipes, or sprinkler heads. We also recommend that you replace the batteries in your sprinkler system at least once a year to ensure that you maintain your service, even during power outages. A good time to test your batteries is when we change to daylight savings time and back.
