Vincent A. Elizondo, Director Parks & Recreation
The Visalia Parks and Recreation Department is “Creating Community through People, Parks, and Programs”, and is vital to the quality of health and well being of the community. The Department oversees nearly 40 City parks; numerous waterways and trails; our urban forest; four major community centers; and a wide menu of programs, activities, and special events designed for all ages of the community. The City also enjoys an outstanding working relationship with the Visalia Unified School District through a comprehensive joint-use agreement.
Our department web site is designed to provide you with some general information regarding all of our parks, waterways and trails, and recreation facilities. Please take the time to explore the site as we're sure you'll find information that will be useful regarding your leisure time pursuits.
This web site is one of many media outlets we use to provide information to the citizens of Visalia regarding our facilities and programs. You can also find information in the local newspapers, radio, television, and at a variety of public facilities throughout the community.
Don't forget to click on the link to our recreation guide --- published three times per year. The guide provides a listing of our current recreation activities designed for both young and old. Our department takes pride in extending our programs and services to you, and looks forward to your participation and involvement.
To improve the quality of life for the citizens of Visalia by providing exceptional parks, places, and programs and services at a good value to our taxpayers and customers and by preserving and protecting our City’s natural resources.
