Park (and facility!) reservations for Easter weekend are currently being accepted, and spots are going fast.
“The warm weather we’ve been experiencing has really kicked off our season earlier than usual,” says Erika Beltran, city of Visalia Parks & Recreation Department office assistant. “All of our park arbors and picnic areas are filling up as people anticipate Easter and the spring season.”
Additionally, staff members can suggest the best fit for the size and scope of celebration. All reservations are taken in person on at our Anthony Community Center, and are taken on a first come, first served basis.
The City parks throughout Visalia vary in the amenities and features offered with many including BBQs, covered arbors, tiny tot lots, playgrounds and open play areas.
“Parks make life better and we welcome the community to enjoy active living in our parks, trails and open spaces,” Beltran said. “We encourage park visitors to check-in on Facebook and share their comments and photos with us too.”
In addition to River Bend Park, Houk Park, Seven Oaks Park and the other many city parks with reservable spaces available, Lions Park, Soroptomist Park, Sunset Park, Kiwanis Park, Constitution Park and Perry Family Park arbors are again open for reservations this year for Easter weekend only. Additionally, Riverway Sports Park’s fourth arbor is now open. Part of the Phase III development, the arbor seats 75 people and features a new playground and restrooms just steps away.
Park reservations are open to individuals, organizations or businesses and are accepted until 5 p.m. no later than three days before the desired rental date.
