Thumbs up to everyone who participated in the City of Visalia's Make a Difference Day on Saturday October 23, 2010. The Parks, Urban Forestry & Buildings Divisions had another very successful event under the on-site leadership of Park Maintenance and the Graffiti Removal Staff. Volunteers from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Neighborhood Church, Redwood High School Interact and Key Clubs, Sunset Rotary Club, Mt. Whitney High School Earth Club, and El Diamante Green Club all worked hard to help clean up and beautify Visalia. There were 400 volunteers and 1300 hours of work completed in just one Saturday morning that truly helped make a difference.
A special thanks to Brian Kempf with Urban Tree Foundation and Community Service Employment Training Corporation for the installation of irrigation along Willow Creek Ponding Basin; and the Church of Jesus Christ – Latter Day Saints and Neighborhood Church who volunteered in 4 projects with the City of Visalia.
