The Operations Support Division is led by Captain Jason Salazar and consists of the Investigations Bureau & Support Services Bureau.  Captain Salazar was promoted in January 2011.  He began his career with the Visalia Police Department in 1993 as a Community Services Officer.  In 1996, he was hired as a full-time Police Officer.  He was promoted to Agent in 2002, Sergeant in 2004, and Lieutenant in 2007.  During his employment, Captain Salazar has been assigned to Patrol, DUI and Violent Crimes. He has also served on SWAT, Rapid Response Team and the Honor Guard.  In 1999, Captain Salazar was recognized as the Department's Latino Peace Officer of the Year, and in 2002, as the Department's Police Officer of the Year. Captain Salazar holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Mountain State University and is a graduate of the Los Angeles Police Department's West Point Leadership program.
