Traffic switchover on Houston Avenue

The following traffic switch is scheduled for this Monday, April 14th:

State Route 216 (Houston Avenue) traffic will be diverted to the newly constructed south portion of Houston Avenue on Monday, April 14th, 2014 beginning at 7:00 a.m. This traffic switch will remain in place through August when the project is anticipated to be complete. Temporary pedestrian walkways will be installed on the north side of Houston Avenue between Lover’s Lane and McAuliff Street.   Traffic will continue with one lane in each direction.

During the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Monday, April 14th, signals lights at Lover’s Lane and McAuliff will be transfer to flashing mode.  Due to the high volume of traffic during school drop-off and pick-up, commuters are reminded to be aware of pedestrians and pay close attention to road construction vehicles and personnel.  Drivers are encouraged to avoid this area during construction and use alternate routes when possible.
